After we ordered our Dyson, we received it in a very short period of time. I’m always thrilled with fast delivery, and the way it was packed was another plus. Not only did it come quick and in great condition, but the assembly was a total cinch as well. It also came with a helpful user-friendly manual, which scores big points for me. One of my biggest pet peeves as a consumer is a new product with bad instructions.
As far as I’m concerned the DC28 is as good as it gets as far as suction. The dirt and dust that this thing picks up is simply astonishing. The first time I used it was shortly after I had recently vacuumed, and I really didn’t think there was much to pick up all. However, this monster picked up far more than I expected, proving right away the difference between my old vacuum and my new Dyson.
This vacuum couldn’t be any easier to use. The maneuverability is great, and the dust collector is a snap to get in and out. Also, the controls are user-friendly and sensibly located.
As a multiple pet owner, I can attest that this machine is fierce against pet hair. My three cats and white German Shepherd are no match for this powerhouse. I am literally blown away by how easily it makes pet hair disappear!
The hose is a big deal for me, as I am always using attachments, especially for my furniture. Over the years I have owned some vacuums that left a lot to be desired in the hose department. I am happy to say the DC28 has a hose that is extremely flexible and easy to use. In addition to the hose itself, the attachments are also super-convenient, and snap on with ease.

Dyson DC28 Vacuum – The Cons

• doesn’t fit under low-profile furniture
There are a couple of areas that could use a little improvement. First of all, this is one loud vacuum. Now, I don’t think I exactly have high volume standards for this thing to live up to, but this machine is surprisingly loud. My husband swears it is no louder than our last, he says it just has a higher pitch. Maybe that’s it, but pitch or not, the sound is my least favorite thing about this machine.
Another slight annoyance is that it doesn’t quite make it under some of my low-profile furniture. However, I can easily get to those areas when I am using the furniture attachment.

There are a ton of great attachments that can be purchased for this vacuum. Not only can many of them be purchased individually, but there are also several great kits. I have the Pet Clean Up Kit, which is well-worth the extra cost. One thing about the extra tools however, is that there is no space on the vacuum to accommodate self-storage.
Another thing worth mentioning is the cord length. The cord is 35 feel long, which means far less plugging and unplugging from room to room.
